Welcome, I am Jeffrey Gallagher,

and thank you for visiting my website. I am an independent tutor who is developing a method for online tutoring to support the rapid and widespread switch to online learning among high schools and colleges.

With a Bachelors Degree in physics and a Masters of Engineering in material science from Cornell University, I did not originally see myself working as a private tutor full time. Like many others though, the current socioeconomic situation changed what was available. Having spent a total of eight years working as a peer tutor, a course TA in high school and college, and as a private tutor before the pandemic, I realized I can use my experience to help students currently facing extreme challenges and disruptions to their education by working full time as a tutor.

At first, I spent a year working solely for a large, international tutoring service. In time, I realized that by working independently, I can better serve student needs without the rules and policies set by a large corporation. Thus, GallagherTutoring was created with the goal of providing to students a better and more personalized learning experience.
